Hey People,

We’ve just released a new desktop version, which has many bug fixes and a few new features for ya’ll! If you don’t get the update for some reason, just download it from

What has been fixed?

1. Chromecast and Apple TV buttons, which were a bit shy in previous versions and were “hiding” are back where they should be! No need to scroll. We also made some Chromecast support updates and it should run more smoothly.

2. Application start up time improved!! Now it opens up like a panther :)

3. Can’t change cache folder directory bug – fixed. Save the content to which ever folder suits you best!

Other than that we really improved torrent download speed so try it out and get dazzled by the amazing experience.

Also we did some work on subtitles support which has been lacking a bit because of a bug we had. We added many subtitles to movies and TV shows that lacked them and we promise to keep working and adding and fixing until all content is subtitled in *almost* all languages out there!!!

That’s it for now, we’re working on huge things for desktop which will be ready in the near future, so big awesome surprises are in store for you all. Stay tuned and as always, SPREAD THE WORD!

1. This version supports 64-bit, hence all you users who couldn’t play anything since you updated to Android lollipop (mainly Samsung users)- you’re back on!! So hurry up and get this new version!

2. We made it possible for this player to display subtitles who go from right to left CORRECTLY!! So Arabic and Hebrew speakers, this is your lucky day :)

What else?

- We’ve made big changed of logic for video watching. Not something you can physically see when using Popcorn Time, but they’re there.
- We fixed crashes from reports sent to us.
- Our automatic updater is back on! So most of you can update to beta 2.7 from within the app, no need to re-install! Just open the app and it will prompt you to install 2.7. If this doesn’t happen to you, you must be running a super old version!! You will have to go to and download the apk.

Introducing: Popcorn Time for NON JAILBROKEN iOS devices!

one year anniversary final

Ladies and Gents,

Give a warm round of applause to the iOS installer!!!

What does this iOS installer do and why should it get warm applause?

It f$#%ing (excuse our French, but we’re excited) installs Popcorn Time on your non jailbroken iOS device.

For months we’ve been wrecking our bright brains on how we can make this happen.. How can we bring our awesome Popcorn Time iOS app to users who don’t want to jailbreak their device? This was one hell of a challenge…

Well, you know how The Beatles sang “I get by with a little help from my friends”?
So “salvation” came when we talked about this challenge with another brilliant group of developers, friends of ours from years past, who came up with the idea to create an iOS installer which will bypass all Apple security (Booom!) and install Popcorn Time on any iOS device (Baaaaam!).
It took some time for them to figure this out and develop it, but now we’re THRILLED to announce that its ready.
And now that these guys figured this thing out, they’re planning to take it to the next level and not only use this installer to enable iOS users to install Popcorn Time on their device, but to actually make it into a store outside the app store so users who don’t want to jailbreak their device can install apps that have not been approved by Apple on their devices. They’re going to break this control Apple has over us, over our devices and over what we can or cannot install on the devices we purchased with our top dollars!!!
They’re planning to follow through with their mission during the month of May and if you want to follow their progress, you can visit them at

The iOS installer is  available at and the installation process is super easy, just follow the instructions given by the installer .exe

Please note that you’ll have to have iTunes installed on your desktop computer for it to work.

At the moment the installer works on Windows only, but in 2 weeks or so we’ll have it for Mac as well.

iOS on non jailbroken devices!!! This is a dream come true for us and for all you iOS people!

Other than that, we’re also releasing a new iOS version, beta 1.2 which other than having many bug fixes, also support Chromecast and Airplay!! Free built in VPN support and an Anime section are not yet ready, but they will be soon and will be released in the next update which will follow shortly.

AND ALSO…… (drum roll please…)

Remember the awesome Android video we made back in May for the release of Popcorn Time on Android? Well, here’s the even better sequel which we made especially for Popcorn Time’s one year anniversary and for this huge release.

Please watch, SHARE, help us make this go super viral so Pochoclin will become a shining STAR! He deserves it, doesn’t he?

What else?

This first year of Popcorn Time was off the hook with many awesome things that happened – bringing Popcorn Time to all major platforms, offering free built in VPN to protect our users anonymity, fighting against evil forces trying to take us down… And if you thought this year was exciting, wait and see what we have coming for you in the upcoming year!

  • Support for Windows phone is coming, hopefully next month!!! And we have plans to create support for many more OS’s.
  • Anonymity revolution which we started this year with the free built in VPN and will evolve into something much greater this year, since the VPN is not enough anymore…
  • Content on our platform is also something we’re working on improving by enabling our users to add their own content to Popcorn Time and actually create their own channel!
  • And to ensure all of this happens uninterrupted and that no one succeeds taking down Popcorn Time, we’re working on making our infrastructure fully p2p and decentralized!

It’s going to be a hell of a year and as always, you can help us make it even greater by helping us spread the word about us!!! Talk Popcorn Time, post Popcorn Time (with out URL please, share Popcorn Time, Tweet Popcorn Time. Any help in getting the word out to the world about us, will be highly appreciated by Pochoclin. The Star :)

5.2 release

Hello our devoted users,

Sorry for such a long gap between our posts/releases, we’re going through a lot lately as most of you know.
We used to think that technological challenges are tough, but tech challenges are child’s play in comparison to what we have been going through!!! You can’t imagine how many people want Popcorn Time to vanish off the face of the internet.
So the real challenge is keep this project alive.

And we love a good fight with a good cause and awesome users who support us and drive us to keep on going!
No one said it was going to be easy, but easy is for losers. We are fucking winners, and so are all of you guys. We love you.

So after all this sappy shit, here’s what we’ve got coming to you today:

We are proud as hell to present you with new versions for Mac (0.5.2!!!) Windows (0.5.2) and Android (0.2.5).
These new releases are all about stability.
Getting this software to work flawlessly in one hell of a challenge and with these releases we’re getting so much closer to this desired goal…
Also the content is of higher quality this time around, and we’re doing our best to make sure you won’t have movies that don’t play, specific episodes in a series you’re watching that get stuck.. We’re doing our best to make sure the video will run smoothly without stuttering, looping, pausing… That the sound quality will be even higher than it already was, that the download will be quicker and that the overall watching experience will rock your world! Even more than before. It worked beautifully when testing it, and if it works beautifully for all of you… Well, we may be able to start fantasizing on crossing out the word BETA before the version number ;-)

Want some more exciting news?

Well, you all know that we’ve been trying super hard since we released iOS for jailbroken devices to bring it also to non jailbroken devices… We recently got some help and initiated an amazing collaboration… A collaboration which is really starting to bear fruits… Apples mainly ;-) More info on this soon…….

Oh, and Windows Phone owners…. Get your devices and eyes ready… Popcorn Time is coming to you soon………

To make our forum more organized, we split our “Something is not right” forum into 2 sub forums! One is for everything desktop (Windows, Mac, Linux), the second one is for everything mobile (Android, iOS).

Hello Friends,

So after a crazy weekend with having to move our whole operation to a new home, we’re back up with all engines burning hard.
We are ready to fly this ship to the freakin’ Popcorn moon and to prove that here are some awesome new releases for ya’ll :)

Windows beta 5.1:

After learning about how awesome beta 5.0 is, but also what’s not working so well in it, we worked hard on solving the issues and we believe we managed to fix many bugs that were bugging you guys!! First of all, Chromecast should work well again for those who experienced issues with it recently… So go a head and enjoy a good movie on your TV screen again, no problemo!

Other than that we fixed many player issues, the cache folder bug and we increased download speed, enabled support of a bigger variety of torrents and in general we improved the watching experience, so go and watch something and tell us how it feels!!
Something isn’t working? Report it on our forum here: //

Mac beta 4.9.1:

First of all to the burning question you all are probably asking: Why isn’t Mac on beta 5.X yet?
Well, with all that’s been going on recently, we had to invest a lot of time making sure that Popcorn Time will not be shut down, and that time took a bite from the time we had for development.

Also we had some hard time getting Chromium to work with QT (our webUI engine) on Mac – but QT 5.4 was just released 10 days ago with a Chromium-Based Browser Engine, so if everything goes smoothly and we won’t have to invest all our time in keeping Popcorn Time alive, we are expecting to release Popcorn Time 5.1 for Mac in less then 2 weeks.

In the meantime we give you beta 4.9.1 with many bug fixes for a smoother watching experience.
Having issues with beta 4.9.1? Report it on our forum here: //

Exciting iOS news for the near future:

We are expecting to release Popcorn Time beta 1.2 for iOS in the next 3 weeks with many improvements, bug fixes (thanks for the awesome QA on our forum!!), Chromecast and Airplay support and a FREE built in VPN!
But the most exciting news are…..

We are working hard getting Popcorn Time for iOS  TO BE AVAILABLE FOR NON JAILBROKEN DEVICES.
Yes. We promised, and we always try to keep our promises :-)

That’s all folks, have a lovely Sunday and beautiful week to come, and may the Popcorn gods smile a big smile on us :)

Hello Androiders,

Pochoclin wanted to give you something special…

Beta 2.4 is up for grabs on: and as implied from the headline here……. From now on……..

On a plane, in the subway, when visiting the moon…. Wherever.

How? From now on you can download whatever you want to watch a head of time and then watch it even if there’s no internet!

Awesome? You tell us!

**FYI: This feature will be added to the desktop app as well in one of the upcoming releases.

What else does this version have in store for you?

- You can watch stuff offline.
- We fixed bugs from crash reports you sent us (thanks!)
- We added support for physical keyboard
- We made some major improvements (torrents, vlc, Chromecast, updater and other)
- We added subtitle font color chooser in settings
- We added dimensions for normal, large and x-large screen sizes.

All of this bundled up with our FREE built in VPN which is powered by the awesome Kebrum.

** In the upcoming release we’ll feature a new savvy UI design we’ve been working on and then Popcorn Time Android officially be the best app ever!

Since we’re not on the Google Play store, the only way new Androiders can find out about this awesome software just waiting to find its way to their device is THROUGH YOU ALL!

So as we ask always, we’ll ask once again, help us spread the word about Popcorn Time for Android. Sharing is caring, so care for your fellow Androiders and let’em have it!

Love, peace and John Travolta.

Pochoclin and the team.

Hello Dear users,

Wow, after such a crazy month, we’re super proud to introduce beta 5.0!!

We’ve completed the first stage in which we worked our asses off to bring Popcorn Time to all major platforms, now we’ll work our asses off to make the watching experience flawless, to bring improvements to content and so much more… It’s going to be fun!!!

Before we start the LONG list of what’s new, we wanted to say a few words about the past month, since our beloved domain was removed and we were forced to move to

You know how they say that every change is for the better? Well, THEY WERE FUCKING RIGHT!!!

In the first few days we were devastated… But out of this devastation awesome things grew.

First, we realized once again how strong and awesome our community of users (you guys!!!) is.
We got so much love and support, help, suggestions and more that we knew instantly that we have to fight back not only for us to not lose this project, but for you all!!
So we wanted to thank you and to ask you all to always stick with Pochoclin!! Without you, there’s no Popcorn Time.

Second, to make sure we don’t experience anything like this again, we made this version of Popcorn Time (and all version that will follow) not connected to the domain. So even if our domain gets taken down again, Popcorn Time will keep on working.
Further more, we decided that we don’t want to be depended on servers either… So in the future all the necessary data for Popcorn Time will be transferred purely via Peer2Peer and in the new beta 5.0 we’ve implemented the infrastructure needed for this vision.

Popcorn Time will live way past us… Unless there’s like nuclear war or the world ends or something like that… (touch wood).

What does beta 5.0 have in store for you all?

  1. A complete make over with UI/UX that just screams – watch movies now!!!
  2. Anime section – yes, lots of you asked for it, now you have it!
Cartoons section – it’s there now, not working yet, but will be activated in the next few days!
  3. Seeding – Up until now upon downloading a movie with Popcorn Time you would seed the torrent only while it downloads. Un-intentionally we created a community of leaches (sorry community) and it’s time to change that. In the new version there’s an “enable seeding” check box, though just a few hours ago we found a few issues with this feature so at the moment it’s disables and it will be enabled in the upcoming days.
  4. Search suggestions (auto complete) – In case you’re not sure about the full name of the movie…
  5. Keyboard navigation
  6. A huge and growing library of movies – Now lets see you guys find movies that are not on Popcorn Time ;-)
  7. Previously watched list – in case you don’t know exactly what movies you’ve watched, what episode you’re on etc.
  8. Connection to several movie sources, so if one goes down for some reason, we’ve got you covered.
  9. Bug fixes.

While we were down a few other Popcorn Time forks showed up to try and take our place.
Some of these forks are charging users a few dollars for download. They are fake and they don’t even work.
It is important for us to clarify to you all, and please help us pass the word around that POPCORN TIME  IS A FREE SOFTWARE WHICH WILL ALWAYS BE FREE.
If anyone asks for your money, it’s a scam.

iOS is working again!!!

Hey All,

So we’re sure that all you iOS users noticed that since our domain got removed (arghhhh!!!) iOS hasn’t been working.

Our Cydia repository was linked to the domain and therefore once the domain got removed, the repository stopped working.

It took us a few days and we’re sorry for not being there for you, but WE’RE BACK!!!

And no one can stop us now…

So the new repository is available through here: //

Install it and enjoy!

A solid solution for non jailbroken devices is still being worked on, this whole mess with the domain set us back a bit, but we will have it, be sure of that.

And SHARE!!!! Please help us get back on Google!! We need our new domain to be… EVERYWHERE!! And since we’re not everywhere, we need you all to help us.

Forums, that’s #1. If any of you all are active on any forums and can open discussions there about us, about our new domain, whatever -  that would be fantastic!

Blogs – You’ve always wanted to start a blog, no? Now’s the time!! And post about Popcorn Time Lol ;-)

Social… Everything. You know the drill.

Everything is appreciated :-)
